Some of the Fifers may already be aware, but I just found out tonight that Jim Drummond (@JDKDY on Twitter) has sadly passed away.

Jim started the well known Fife PoP feeder ride, and led the ride every year until this year. He was a well kent face within the cycling community in Fife. I didn’t know Jim well, but we bantered quite a lot on Twitter, and my local FB forum over the years, and chatted on PoP rides.

His funeral is on Friday, 12:45 at Kirkcaldy crematorium.

  3. I was gutted to hear this. I knew Jimmy through the CycleChat forum & met him for the first time in 'real life' at the first POP.

We'd usually catch up there annually, and this year he rode with my group on the EdFoC Night Ride, so we spent most of the night riding together & blethering away. This year he regaled me with the tale of how he'd almost been the cyclist in the bank ad a few years ago who sat using the bank app on his phone before riding off!

PoP and the Night Ride won't be the same without his company.

    RIP Jim.
