I was locking cooncil lecky bike up at the racks in rose street outside sainsburys and was approached by an enterprising fellow who asked for 60p to make a phone call. Yes from a phone box. I gave him 40p reckoning the likelihood of the call happening to be zero. He did say you did not get man minutes for the 60p minimum

Makes a change to being asked for bus fare I suppose. When City Singles used to exist I would occasionally cause confusion by offering one instead of small change.

I just reverse begged. Found four golf balls on my run, offered them to whichever of the foursome I came across on the seventeenth green of Braids One would admit to voting Yes in 2014. Three of them grimly indicated the fourth who gratefully received the bounty.

Sounds like he was winning the match too, hence the grudging indication that he would be receiving the golf balls.
Only 25 per cent of golfers backed the Indy ref you say?
