Winter cycling is hard on your bike. Show it some love by stopping at the free #drbike at Haymarket Station tomorrow, the13th December, from 8:00 to 10:00 and 16:00 to 20:00.

CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

...which explains why the Bike Station van was parked in the layby this morning. While I don't mind the layby being used for dropping off and picking up people or stuff I do hope they are not going to leave the van there for any length of time.
The BIke Station van was also parked on the grass at the Meadows when Dr Bike was there.
Winter cycling is hard on your bike but fitting winter-cycling accessories such as spikey tyres is hard on your will to live. Perhaps I could pop home at lunchtime to get my winter tyres from the shed then trundle over and request some 'maintenance' and 'winter preparation'.
Am tempted to take the belt drive commuter with self-adjusting hydraulic brakes down, just for a giggle to see what maintenance they do on it...

At the current time the Bike Station doesn't have a cargo bike as their old one was lost in the fire, so they have no choice but to use the vans for Dr Bike sessions.
If someone would like to prove a suitable cargo bike, I am sure they would welcome the donation. Failing that they would welcome donations to a crowdfunder so that they could buy and fit out a Dr Bike Cargo Bike next year. So who would be up for helping them do the right thing?
Not having a cargo bike doesn’t preclude the Bike Station from parking their van legally and not in a park

However I can report that they were at Haymarket when I came through yesterday evening and the van was nowhere to be seen.
(The layby was full of some monster truck instead).
