Ged has gone from the EBC, we think maybe retired. What a lovely man. I wish to create a Ged Festival.
Could just be a Gedanken Ged Festival (I.e. in my head)
For anyone interested in G sounds, Ged is a soft G but Gedanken is a hard G like Gembo.
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

When I read the books it was always a hard g in my head. (Obviously this real-time Ged may choose to pronounce it how he wishes.)
A friend of mine was romantically interested in Ged many, many years ago. Size was an issue.
Careful now.
Ged is actually a signed up CCEer.
Best ever encounter with Ged was first PoP.
Image of him walking down line of bikes chatting to the many people he knew. All these EBC bikes etc.
Also great supporter of the Edinburgh Belles on Bikes, Bike Breakfast and EdFoC.
Sourced items for me on at a couple of occassions.
Oh yes think I recall that person in EBC when I called about my broke spokes
You can't just say a person's true name like that.

Wow,
I feel honoured to have a CCE thread in my name.
I have indeed retired from the Bike Co-op after being a founder member in 1977 and working there full time since ‘84. I can honestly say I enjoyed most days I worked there. I’d be the first to admit that, like any enterprise, the co-op isn’t perfect but I’ll always maintain that these shops make Edinburgh (and Newcastle, Aberdeen and Leeds) better places to live. I’ll still pop in to them to chat to old colleagues and buy bike stuff. I’ll also hand over my bikes without embarrassment when a repair is beyond me be it Di2 diagnostics or cleat removals.
A month into retiring, my head is still very much in holiday mode. I’m loving the time and leisure to do stuff such as post on this fine forum.
BTW, it’s Ged with a soft G.
While flattered and intrigued by I were right about that saddle’s comment, I must put it on record that Maggie (AKA Mrs H) has been my partner throughout my Bike Co-op career. She has no issue with my height.
