John Knox Would Never (massage recommendations)

    Having established that Knox would never indulge his aches & pains with a hellfire-threatening massage, I would like to come out as a damned sinner in need of some suggestions:

    - Balanced Physio have taken away their online booking system (bah) and the last time I went there the massage was a bit... disappointing. Time for a change.
    - Soma in Leith are great, but maybe a bit inconvenient for weekday appointments.
    - A friend sent me to a place in the West End for a hot stone massage from her massage person, but I mostly just fell asleep. Too gentle!
    - True Thai lean the other way: brutal! Ow! Owwwwwww. Endorphins are nice, but oooooft.
    - The Flotarium: eh. It's really just a relaxation thing with smelly oils, which is nice but not quite my thing.

    Does anyone have a favourite Firm But Fair massage person/place in Edinburgh?

    My mates often goes to Castle Thai Spa I went once seemed good to me but never had another anywhere else so not really able to judge.

    I'd recommend Dee Gillespie (search for her on Facebook - Dee Gillespie Holistic Massage). I think she also works out of Neal's Yard too.

    I had three or four sessions, ranging from a general Swedish style to deep tissue work to open up a damaged area in my lower back. Excellent stuff and Dee's such a lovely person too.

    Juan Mases at Knot Stressed, Montrose Terrace, has done good targeted work on my neck & shoulders. Not too brutal, but not too easy either.
