"my attention may be distracted at points"
That's what ScotRail says.

though I will be popping the cricket on my phone
Tom Morton had some suggestions about how to make that game more interesting !
I do hope to attend tomorrow. Expect it to be a bright and slidey morning.
I will have my weather related prize mag or 2. Don't know about SS though. Struggling to cope with work at moment ... pavements in centre of town are icy already.

I may be there on m'way. If I take the bike out tomorrow!

I can bring secret santa "bits" or not. However I will probably have some handmade baguette on offer. I'm currently producing more than I can eat as I practice on them and as my Mum gave me the early present of a linen couche and a baguette baking sheet there will be more made tonight. That is unless I stuff it all up!

BBC Forecast is for -3 with a 9mph SW wind.
But then again they could be wrong...

I've found an interesting secret santa bit that I forgot I had, and got for free at the Bike Show a couple of years back as a journo-freebie (my first ever). Actually worth real cash-money! Given I'd forgotten about it and never used it might as well see someone else get the use.
This may or may not be to buy silence while I watch the cricket...

Have dug out a SS from the garage, assuming I get myself into bed in the next short while I expect to be there around 8ish for a coffee, subject of course to snowpocalypse/scotrail/gross laziness etc ;-)

I might remember to grab something (old-spare, rather than pristine-superfluous spare) in the morning, if I'm on schedule.
Posted 14 years ago # -
You eaten one already?
Posted 14 years ago # -
Not quite. Well. Half of one.
*shame*

hey, are you the transport minister?
Posted 14 years ago # -
A good turnout and good to meet everyone (for the first time or once again!).
Hope everyone managed to slither safely on to work and best wishes for the festive season :)(and to follow on from the thread i started last night, Colinton Road hill was a lungburster this morning lol)

Glad I made it after all, even if I do now already miss the trusty old red flasher (enjoy Min ;)
Gutted I didn't go for the baguette now and will get mercilessly ripped by the bike guy at freewheelin for wanting to attach yet more weight to unballance my wheels (he had a good go at me for the valve cap lights) nobody seemed interested in the explosive bikers sticker so I will see if I can recruit a new CCEer at work with it, left the gas cylinders as they not threaded (and didn't really want to be an exploding biker)
Thanks to Anth for the magnetic lights, will at least try them out, you weren't too bad at watching the cricket either.
Thanks for the card Laid Back
And thanks for the chat everyonePosted 14 years ago # -

"Glad I made it after all, even if I do now already miss the trusty old red flasher (enjoy Min ;)"
It has gone to a good home, don't you worry! I expect I will have it on my cargo trike when I am 150 and wearing a pink bunnet. ;-)

Sorry i couldnt turn up. The morning conspired against me! Saw Smudge though on the way up the hill!

@Min: Remeber to replace the duct tape when you replace the batteries, the velcro and tape are really the case now, a bit like the Top Gear Toyota Hilux they put in the sea/burned/dropped from a demolished building where the bodywork was holding the chassis together...

I protest, you obviously didn't admire the white
@Smudge - Oh sorry, I thought it was the cleanest beige bike :)kaputnik is already fading all I remember is prescription glasses?
@Spite-fury - Alas I think I had to leave before the cameras came out! You'll have to forget me (think lots of black and yellow lycra. On second thoughts. Don't. think about the girl with nice legs cycling in hotpants from the gym)Posted 14 years ago # -
@thebikechain; argh! Spotted! I hope I didn't look as knackered as I felt :-/
@kaputnik; ahhh that explains it :-D
Only took one pic but will try to remember to flikr it later :)

"fashionably late" - well, y'know I had to go through passport control to get past pilrig st. Takes a while.
Whoo-eee, nice to see yawl, and was glad of the flat white and cinnamon bun as that was haaard cycle back to work. Well, it was a lovely cycle until the gogar roundabout. After that the paths were unrideable solid ice, mixed with patches of slippery sheet ice. Was channeling my inner mountain goat.

unrideable solid ice
I struggled on the 100m of that between South Gyle station and Gogarloch. Don't envy you. It's just as well that goats like cinammon buns.
Posted 14 years ago # -
think I may have done your work route, but I turned right and went down the dual carriageway past S&N and the gyle carparks, that was okay if a little frosty down the edges.
Was that you leaving as I was arriving?

Was that you leaving as I was arriving?
Yes it was. Sorry didn't mean to blank you but by the time I mentally clicked and recognised who it was I was half way up the hill.
Point of note, some passing school kids (heading down the hill) tried to shine either a very bright rear bike LED or a laser pen in my face as I passed. They missed. If I hadn't been both running late and trying so hard to avoid the black Ice I would have stopped on the spot for some remonstration.

sawlright, was wearing aforementioned gimpy balaclava so wouldn't have been able to register anything. Think the look was post reveal Yul Brynner in Westworld, just eyes and hat.
