    Hi,
There's so much going at the east end of the City, I think it would be a great idea to meet up and talk about what's going on, discuss issues etc.
Also to talk about whether we could set up an ongoing email group or such like to share information and ideas.
I am co-ordinating most of the things in this part of town for Spokes and we've recently had meetings with council officers re Orcas, tram extension, Leith Street and Picardy Place.
I'm willing to share what I can.
If you are interested just turn up, I'll be there anyway, but ideally let me know in advance via a private message.
Also, could you let me know of any others that might be interested (eg who have campaigned for better infrastructure etc in the area in the past) - or pass the word on.
Does anybody go to Leith Central Community Council - might they be worth contacting? (I do go to New Town and Broughton CC).

Sounds good, sadly not a time of day I can make. If an electronic ML or forum comes out of it let us know though.

Oh, good plan - might be able to stop by (perhaps not till about quarter past though).

@chdot - Powderhall was in the original title but ran out of room. Lots more to come. Granton and Newhaven in my sights too and Calton Road one day.
May spread West to cover Meadows to George St and George Street itself and certainly any connections to the Bridges, but will keep it local for now.
A list would be a good start.

It being half-term, I might make it.

Outhouse is no longer available. Any suggestions for an alternative venue - back room of a pub or some such?

Can't think of any suitable rooms, but lots of pubs have areas we could probably reserve ie Hamiltons or Bailie Bar if we have less than 10.

    Cumberland Bar's backroom is reservable.

I'm working away on Monday so won't be able to attend, I'm afraid.

I'd be interested but have a class finishing at 6.30 on Monday - depending on location will pop my head in to see if you are still there. Sounds like a good idea, thanks.

Thanks - I'll try those venues.
I'm very tight on time next week and away the following week but it seems timely to have a meeting now so will stick with the date and time if we can.

    New venue:

    The Cumberland Bar
    1-3 Cumberland Street, Edinburgh, EH3 6RT
    0131 558 3134
    enquiries@cumberlandbar.co.uk

We'll be in the "side room". Plenty of railings outside for parking - they've said that they don't mind.

Sorry it's not very central - but it's available and free.

@McD - you and I have slightly different definitions of "not very central", apparently.

Don't think I will make it: half term child wrangling duty calls.

However one issue that would be good to include on the agenda is the Powderhall railway and its possible conversion to a shared use path, linking to the NEPN.

I hope to come along. Can I sneak Holyrood Park onto the list?

Holyrood, Meadowbank, Powderhall - such potential...

And in the case of Holyrood, so many years of teeth-grinding frustration.

A few topics for consideration - not all tonight!

Not an exhaustive list but stuff to be thinking about.
Hoping to see a good few people tonight - though the side room isn't very big.
Aim to keep it informal and sociable, but do want to find out what future such a group might have - maybe a short survey.
I'm thinking mainly an information sharing session.

I have to leave at 6.30

Survey form - I'll print a few for tonight plus bringing some Post-Its etc for scribbling on.

Thanks to the 6 of you who came on Monday evening. I thought that it was a good start and some useful discussion.
Topics included Picardy Place, Leith Walk, Leith Street and some general discussion about the uselessness of non-mandatory cycle lanes and some serious discussion about cycling in Holyrood Park which I've followed up with @c60c90 as Spokes has had enquiries and debate recently re Duddingston to Holyrood.
We covered most of the list at:
    East City Cycling's Google Drive
Other issues to follow up on include Pavement/Cycleway parking on Leith Walk and Tolbooth Wynd/Queen Charlotte Street and Seafield Road.
It's Leith Central Community Council on Monday 19th - I'm away but was hoping to go. Anybody else going?
