MiniSrd's borrowed front tyre is bulging just near the valve.

I don't have the energy to try and change it tonight. I did try letting the air down and trying to push it back into place, but it did the same thing again when i re-inflated.

is it rideable tomorrow - short distances only? i.e. to school and then to cycle service for a swap?

Photo does not look too bulgy. Is it the beading that has gone round the edge of the tyre? Does the tyre clear the brakes and the mudguards? If so might be OK for short trip.?

Could the base of the valve be sitting below the bead and pushing it up? Let the air out, wiggle the valve up into the tyre, seat the tyre down into the rim, then pull the valve back down and inflate.

I had the same issue this week and other than a bumpy ride it was fine. urchaidh's solution worked on one wheel but the only solution on the other wheel was to replace the rubbish Tesco inner tube with a better one.

I've had the same issue with Schwalbe Marathons in the past. I think it should be fine for short distances as long as you don't over-inflate otherwise it will rub on the brake calipers.

thanks all. I was originally worried because minisrd messaged me to say the tube was coming through, but i don't think it is. anyway, we seem to have got through this mornings tight logistics okay, and can hopefully sort it this afternoon.

Cycle service sorted it by doing what I had done, only with more conviction.

    Tyre's fine.
