If it's at Cowpits Rd, it could affect the Portobello to Dalkeith route.
There are more details at East Lothian Consultations. It looks like the development, if it happens would provide a quieter alternative connection from Cowpits to the old railway path route to Dalkeith. However there is already a quiet alternative to the main road link. When you turn left into the village at the roundabout at the end of the Cowpits road, the second road on your right leads to a park and a traffic free path which then connects to the Dalkeith path.
