    To all CCE'rs

As it's very very quiet and footfall is down, we are doing deals all week and the best one is today. 15% off if you spend over £50 in the webshop.
You can of course come and pick the items up in person or we can send out if you prefer.

Is now the right time to get into a set of ortlieb hi viz backrollers? Or perhaps a nudge to your nearest and dearest for pointers for Santa etc.

    Cheers

    Mark

  4. What Min said...

Anyway, come the New Year I've earmarked TBC for every single bit to go on the >X< build (if you can get me white Goldtec hubs... ;) )...

TBC, what have you got in the Brooks B17 department?

    Posted 13 years ago #
  6. And for what it's worth I'm not 'just saying that' - the last couple of bike builds I've done virtually everything was bought online, and I've just been feeling lately that misses an undefinable something out of the process. Edinburgh has a lot of good bike shops, TBC has that undefinable something I've been looking for.

It's to go on a dark blue bike with yellow bar tape, ortliebs and mudguards and stainless steel headset / stem / bars.

    Brown or Black?

    Ahem. Always Brown or Honey.

Druidh went with Black alas but he has no concept of how much fail this is.

The Brown is softer. mmmm. Cossetting.

Any sign of 622mm Marathon Winter? If you have some I'll take three.

Wiggle now say mid Jan, SJS no longer have a prediction.

Looking like 'piece of string' type thing now. Rep shrugged shoulders yesterday, might make a great Summer Tyre though ;-)

So, I quote TBC website - "The Brooks B17 in black - classy and elegant in looks and heritage"

I take it that Druidh wrote that page then too? :)

I'm just ordering it now (in honey). Can I pick it up tomorrow?

TBC would have me on failblog if I bought it in black

In that case, honey brown is the new yellow - hence my purchase. Unfortunately it seems I missed the limited edition re-issue of Brooks Colts in yellow.

Oh so there is no black :( honey would not go with my frame at all...

A passe brown may well find its way onto my mtb* as it is boring white and therefore style is optional... a (very comfortable) far classier black flyer will of course be passed on to the LHT when it arrives ;-)

    *ok, "will"... order submitted!

Hrmm. Do you do the web store prices in store?

I think I might be interested in a pair of the Shimano R077 shoes (and pedals to go along with) but I'd really need to come in to size up and have a think about it.

    Never mind, I just phoned.

I have to say that the Bike Chain have a singularly excellent telephone manner; I pretty much decided to splash some cash before I even finished explaining what I wanted.

    Off on a post-work adventure then - I'm strictly a southsider, oo-er!

My black B17 is treated but not yet fitted. It will be going on the "mighty" Amazon when road conditions are better (actually that might be tomorrow - whoopee!)

    I just bought stuff. CURSES!

Still at least I'll be getting that multitool and woolen buff (I will of course model it on Friday) and recovery drink for when I run out of milkshake (quite frequently) that I've been wanting for aaaages.

Looks like TBC are doing good business! I've logged on late and missed it all.

Wonder if they have any of these nice bright rear rack lights on offer?
