Timber washing up along East Lothian coast

    Reports of timber - looks like floorboards - washing up from Leith to Barns Ness and over at Crail. Dozens here in Musselburgh and more coming in on each tide. Boards are 2cm thick, 12.5cm and 15cm wide and about 3m long.

    Reminds me of one spring in Orkney in the 1980s and thousands of pit props were washed ashore. Bonanza for the locals!

    But before doing that they make beach huts.
