    No

    YOu can take the train.

However, if you have the time and inclination You can take WoL path to balerno, then A70 out beyond Harperrig Reservoir then turn right down the B7008 newly re-opened and patched quite well.

This will however mean you are in West Calder? Does have very good bike shop Pedal Power

I use the A70 for my "Long Commute". I think it is OK (certainly I prefer it to the A71, but I also chose it over the Long Dalmahoy Road route).
Slightly OT, but Mr fimm reports that the new tarmac on the B7008 is beautifully smooth.

EDIT to add the route mr fimm did the other day:

A70 is fast and wind does blow but the sightlines are good.

quieter beyond the kirknewton turn but also the occasional mad driver.

East calder path to Livi village , b7015, Mossend “safest route” but lang may not be too bad either, A71 a bit rubbish. I went there about a month or so ago to look at bikes a Ridgeback Panorama. You can cycle the A71 done it quite a few times but its quite rubbish when get to livi. The road is very busy too narrow for safe passes and has pointless dangerous short slip road design, the etiquette is the vehicle in slip road has priority which of course it does not but that’s the “ informal expectation, sometimes”. The slips road causes bad visibly over a convention junction for large vehicles if left hand drive if left hand drive HGV is merging it may be a bit hit and miss.
It’s almost like the corporation tried to make the road as unsafe as possible as was greenfield development but much poorer design than more organic routes.

If you’re not in a hurry, canal to just short of Broxburn, then back roads and Almondel Country Park to East Calder, then Livi cycle paths to Polbeth, then last bit on the road.
