I'm in for tomorrow. Keen to get the south of Edinburgh chalked up.
Is there already a surplus of chalk, or should I acquire my own?
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Would advise spray chalk
My chalk sticks are being shredded quickly by rough surfaces and the marking doesn’t get into the dips
@Frenchy If you can nab some it might be good - I have four cans via the excellent @ARobComp, but I'm honestly not sure how far they'll go - my cheap wee cans ran through two per each sign (not stencilled, freehand), but these are 400ml beasts... But I'll try to pick up more hand chalks tomorrow too, so one way or another we should be good to carry out some socially beneficial graffiti. (Though as @Klaxon notes the hand chalks are less efficient.)
Where in Edinburgh sells them?
Think Edinburgh Art Shop on Lauriston Place might? (It's apparently a niche item...)
Maybe avoid the Restalrig Railway Path and Lochend Park/Sainsbury cut-through. Looks like there's an association shoutball performance on today.
Yeah - I picked up my bike, now with a non-seized seatpost, from Eastside Bikes. Lots and lots of people wearing various designs of green and white clothing, and with varying levels of sobriety.
Cheers fellow vandals. Btw I think I have Chalker's Back tonday.
Map of chalking sites has been updated. Let me know if I've missed out some of your additions?
Well, there are four chalkings at KB but it's beyond the pale so that'll do.
Went to barbers down WoL path and towpath, several chalkings
@wingpig I am sorry if my first post came over frosty
It was meant entirely jovially and without bad will
Ta. Unfortunately it really hacked me off, after having tried to squeeze in as much as possible, which roughened the landing of subsequent feedback. Fortunately, it will not prevent me doing more, nor repeating it next year.
My rubbish kiddie chalk has blown/been worn away already. Bah.
Spray chalk all the way. Looking most excellent.
