The Cycling without Age people are bringing their trishaws to POP but they need passengers

"I would not be able bring our regular care home passengers over, too long a day for them so we will need to arrange who will be able to be our passengers on the day. There is a lady from Dumfries who wants a ride for her mother who was a keen cyclist all her life so we are trying to get her up to Edin. Is there any elderly iconic figure you could encourage to come join us?"

    Any ideas?

Dare you tweet this and discuss with Fraser, as to who handles the response?

Alternatively perhaps get SAGA/Sunday Post to a)suggest folk b) cover the event, with a bias to passengers and riders of the more venerable status.

Unfortunately the Northern Streams music festival is not the same weekend as PoP for the first time in a few years else I could have volunteered my parents, which would have been appropriate in more ways than just age since they are holding the PoP banner in the Facebook event photo...

If Her Britannic Majesty Elizabeth II was up next weekend that would be cool. More fun than most of the grim stuff she does too. Anyone got her e-mail?

I was thinking David Attenborough but I expect he'd be even more unobtainable.

I think I met your parents jdanielp - I was looking for some banner volunteers and they very kindly agreed. They didn't look as if they were quite in the CWA demographic.

My mum is away, and seemed unkeen to lend me some old lady companion.

Possibility: does anyone have friends / acquiantances who don't cycle but would use an adapted bike if they did who would consider volunteering*? Failing that, the currently injured (thinking broken limbs eg!)?

*extra bonus, they might enjoy it so much they might become converts?

@sallyhinch indeed, but they are getting noticeably older these days unfortunately.

@sallyhinch If you're still looking for passengers then The Mother in Law is visiting over the weekend and I think would be very happy to passenger...
