Can anyone let me know if there are diversions on the NEPN:
1. between Russell rd and Craigleith?
2. between Craigleith and junction with Goldenacre path (is that 5 ways or 7 ways?)
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

The path is open as normal outwith their working hours! Think the signs say that the path is closed between Ravelston Dykes and Craigleith 0930-1630. I was sceptical about how much difference they were making but they have managed to drain the perma-puddle underneath Queensferry Rd. No idea what the rectangular bits off to the side are going to be for, though.
So, tomorrow between 9.30 and 10 it is likely to be closed?
I went along last thurs and made it through but this was 8a.m. Plenty diggers etc working with stones and the like but not closed. However, perhaps this was merely the prelude. @srd you could go along 9a.m - be early, have nice coffee to yourself and contemplate the beauty of nature surrounding you in the bit bot gardens?
@gembo, yes, but am leading a group and we are leaving after school drop offs etc.. it seemed selfish to keep such a nice ride to myself. but that was before the works...
@srd pity. Will be sunny but cold. Ravelston Dykes road is not too bad after rush hour but dumps you out on the Queensferry road. Through comely bank always busy. But could be avoided by going through inverleith park.
Hope it goes well
@goliath I wondered about the rectangular passing place sidings too. Very neat but unclear as to their point?
We’ve done this on another thread: Probably benches.
Successfully cycled. No diversions. Lovely sun, birdsong and flowers.
Colleagues impressed with my pathfinding.
Me impressed with myself for finding Eilden St exit from Goldenacre path.
Good parking too - plenty of empty racks.
