Interesting reading the comment in the EEN
"... makes me think that it is time our elected representatives stopped listening to this particular single interest group as started thinking about the interests of all road users and prioritising investment where it has the maximum benefit."
The commenter has no sense of irony, as the biggest "single interest group" which cause most of the problems in the first place, is the motoring lobby.
