Anyone know more?
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 16years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Nope.
Is that a response on behalf of the whole CCE or just yourself?
Just South Edinburgh. I'm not a megalomaniac.
I'll be going, anyway.
Organised, if I don't have my wires crossed, by the person who organised the Fairmilehead PoP feeder rides.
Anyone know more?
Other than south Edinburgh having an almost total absence of cycle lanes, no. I might try to get along to this.
Interesting that the account is four years old but has tweeted just twice.
Those who go, please keep us informed. I recognise there is much work to do...
Bump. Public meeting is this Tuesday.
Tonight!
I'll be along if I can get out of work at a sensible time!
I did not get out of work at a sensible time :(
How was it?
Good, positive by all accounts. No illusions about how easy it will be to get significant change, though.
Will try and write more later. There were at least 4 other CCE users there, so hopefully some of them can chime in too.
I thought it was a very – and pleasantly surprisingly – positive meeting, notwithstanding the challenges that the group faces in making inroads into the hitherto cycling unfriendly roads in the area. Good turn out that I hope continues.
What struck me was the unanimity of the outputs of the mapping exercise.
Cllr Scott Arthur came across very well, I thought, and clearly walks the talk. He was riding a single speed and had the quads to prove it. Melanie Main is a stalwart of south Edinburgh. David Key took a while to warm up but contributed some good points towards the end.
Nice to see Friskiffla and (I think) daisydaisy there. There was someone else I met at PoP, who spoke for a long time, but don't know his name or if he's on CCE.
Follow up meeting on the 18th September - 7:15pm till 8:30pm - at the Pentland Community Centre, Oxgangs Brae.
“
We’re looking for short video clips from head cams or vehicle cams which show why 40mph speed limits in Frogston Road, Braid Hills Drive and Comiston Road are unsafe for cyclists and pedestrians. Can you help?

There's another public meeting at 6:30pm tonight in Charwoods pub (the place on Buckstone Terrace next to the Scottish Water site).
On the agenda:
1. Braidburn Terrace proposals
2. Pedal on Parliament.
3. Sustrans funding for local network.
(presumably time for anything else you want to discuss too).
You must log in to post.
