Planning a wee overnight adventure with friends/kids and it's becoming clear that they will need to carry some of their own kit.

Am hoping to get their sleeping bags/mats on their bikes as these are bulky but light, but am struggling as their bikes have no racks.

Would anyone have a rack or two that would fit an Isla Bike Beinn 20 for sale, or loan for a weekend?

Any other suggestions for carry stuff?

Still looking if anyone has anything. Also may be in the market for a couple of small (front) panniers to use on the racks, any condition considered?

Got a cheap 20" rack from Decathalon which was looking good, but having a bit of trouble fitting it. The long mounting straps I probably need cost almost as much as the rack, so currently tinkering in the shed.

I could lend a rack from a 20" Islabike, as it's not in use. Given the bike is a transport bike, it would be good to get the rack back in due course.

I've got panniers too, however these are required for all of July, so the loan of these would only work if needed in June or August.

    PM if interested,

    Robert

A bit of aluminium L-shaped or box profile with holes drilled in it should do the trick. Handy for fixing racks to various non-standard shaped bikes...

@urchaidh - sorry I found the rack i remembered seeing, but it isn't with the connector bits at present. will see if I can track them down.

But I'm also not sure it's an islabike rack. In fact, it would make sense that it wasn't an islabike rack, because I didn't think we had an extra one, but it looks a bit like one. Not exactly though.

I have a pair of longish pannier straps doing nowt - also a set of P-clips if there are no lugs. Also might have a spare seat clamp with lugs.

    Thanks everyone.

@SRD - if you're happy to pass on the rack then that would be great, just let me know what you'd like for it. If you can't find the fixings I should be able to sort something out, especially given @wingpig's offer of bits.

@wingpig - currently working on a mechano based solution for the decathlon rack I have, the frames have lugs but they're at an angle and I can't bend the mounts that came with the rack. If I need another set can I get back to you?

@roibeard - if the other plans fall through a loaner would be fantastic, it's for the weekend after next. Don't worry about the panniers thanks, that was just me thinking ahead.

    Thanks.
