I'be been trying to map an off-road route between home and my daughters new nursery. I could get as far as my office but the next stretch (up Bush Loan) would have to be on-road unless I could find a way through Pentlands Science Park and the Bush Estate. My security pass would only let me through the pedestrian gate but that gate is too tight for a bike and trailer.

My office manager very sweetly asked the Security guys if they would upgrade my pass to allow me access to the car gate and RESULT! I can now take my 2 year old in the bike trailer entirely off-road between home and her nursery.

It took roughly 5 minutes of time of one of the Security staff but has saved me such a lot of worry from cycling up Bush Loan with a toddler.

I'm buying them chocolates to say thanks.

Plebgate2 neatly avoided by reasonable behaviour and thoughtfulness all round. Well done.

it's lovely what happens when people are asked nicely. and those chocolates will just set things up nicely for the next favour.

    little things are important.
