    It would be better if they did this all year round. Edinburgh's busy with tourists pretty much all the time now.

    Cockburn Street and Blair Street are "key thoroughfares"?

    I feel like "key thoroughfare" perhaps captures the fact that they are key walking routes (as well as minor roads) better than "arterial route" (which seems to be one of these language quirks where the meaning has completely reversed - it used to mean 'any main road' and has now morphed to mean 'George Street'.)
