    EVERYONE! Come to the clean air day, 0930-1230 on The Mound. The Mound will be shut these times and I think there is something happening with George St on the Friday.

    I'll be there with a few electric bikes and cargo bike and I reckon there'll be a few other shops too.

    The start of something bike, I hope.

    Presumably, with various bike events happening, cycling cautiously and politely along the closed roads will be permitted?

    Very much a cycling and walking event! No motor vehicles - that's what it's all about.

    When I said the start of something 'bike' in the first post, I meant the start of something BIG!

    They’re hardly likely to collect meaningful data on air pollution if it’s only closed for 3 hours & outwith rush hour. And that was the whole raison d’etre as far as Lesley Macinnes was concerned

    @neddie: I think a bigger part of it is getting people used to road closures and showing that the city doesn't collapse (and is actually better).

    chdot, that's basically what the OP is about. I knew Humza Yousaf was coming. I didn't know the outline of the day.

    Useful, thanks!

    @Stickman

    I still don't think that closing one and a half roads (1 of which is barely used) outwith rush hour really demonstrates much.

    Most people will be at work and won't even notice.

    I tell a lie. I have a similar document emailed from the organisers.

    Like I say, this is hopefully the start of something BIG :-)

    “hopefully” - as in you know/suspect something?

    Or just optimism undimmed by the last few/many years?
