Now, I'll be upfront and say that it's a friend of mine who has taken it over for the summer BUT I'd not give him a plug unless I genuinely rated the place.

It'll be open Tue-Sun 10-4 through the summer. He has his own label coffee which is a delight but he also does a great cup of tea and breakfast rolls, cookies, cakes etc.

I've been by a few times and it's a lovely place to just hang out for a bit. 100% bike friendly obviously. There are racks at the car park but there's no issue with taking your bike to the outdoor seats.

It's not obvious from the towpath that it's there (he's working on signage) so I said I'd put word out. Great place for a pit-stop with kids on the way back to town.

It amuses me to say "Shall we swing by The Calders for brunch". Not something that would have happened a few years back. :)

Silly me. Just off the canal towpath at the Calders. Before the Scott Russell aqueduct if you're heading west.

Just after the WHEC playing fields heading out of town. Look out for the mad wee tanks which are unrelated but nearby.

Blimey. I didn't realize that Google Street View went along the canal towpath
