Cycling UK are celebrating their 140th anniversary with 140 memorable rides and they've suggested that we submit a couple of POP ones. I can do the main PoP ride but it struck me that Jim Drummond's Fife feeder ride should also be included, if we had a few more details. Info below (unfortunately it's quite short notice!):
hope that you’re well. I was hoping that you would be interested in contributing your ‘Pedal on Parliament’ rides to our '140 routes for our 140th anniversary'. We're featuring routes of all lengths, all terrains, for all abilities and in all nations of the UK to showcase our anniversary and the myriad of activities that we support / are involved with.
Alongside routes from our groups, BBR projects, Holidays &Tours and Challenge events we've already got routes from key influencers such as Chris Boardman, Mark Beaumont, Josie Dew, Isla Rowntree, Jesse Norman and even Timmy Mallet.
It would be a good opportunity to promote your activities. We just need 1 or more of your POP routes in GPS format (from a Garmin or simply plotted on a routing tool like mapmyride), a landscape pic (optional) and a total of 200-300 words to describe your relationship with Cycling UK (50 words) and topline summary of route itself (200 words or so).
These will be collated on the website and promoted to the cycling public and wider media over the remainder of the summer launching on our Birthday next weekend.
If you’d be willing to get involved please either contact or send details to Vic Hazael or Sam Jones (cc’ed).
