   Did anyone else hear something that sounded like a low-pitched siren in West Edinburgh last night? It was rather loud and quite unpleasant. Any idea what it was? My only guess was something to do with the railway.

   Perhaps they have resumed testing the old air raid sirens in anticipation of next March?
