    Off topic, I know.

Always impressed with the CCE collective mind any time films are mentioned.

Can we have a thread to surface some gems?

Was reminded of one of my favourites yesterday: 1990's Canadian music mockumentary Hard Core Logo. Not a comedy (though often funny). Love this film.

Deutschland 83 gets my vote - was shown on Channel 5 or such like and was quite a hit with me and Mrs LB.

Often thought hat some of these 'boxed sets' would be a treat to watch in cinema - but not all at one go. Could it be done now when people can 'binge on entertainment' at home.

'Follow the Money' 1 and 2

Wonder Boys has been on iplayer recently - Michael Douglas as washed up writer - his best performance? Also has great James Brown impersonator.

Good Will Hunting is on the Netflix - Robin Williams Again downplaying himself and winning Oscar. The afflecks being all working class Boston is also quite amusing.

I've found that if you search Amazon Prime for 'cycle' and 'bike' and stuff, lots of interesting things come to light...

I'm currently enjoying 'Eat Race Win', about the Orica Scott team at the TDF, made from the point of view of the team chef. I've previously enjoyed 'The Program' (about Lance), 'Bicycle' (the one with the little girl learning to ride at the end), 'A Murder of Couriers' and 'The Alley Cat'.

One I found that I didn't like was 'Breaking LA', it was just too self-consciously hipster cool for me. Watch it and decide for yourself.

..oh yes, and 'The Hammer' was interesting too, if you like endurance rides.

Sylvain Chomet's Belleville Rendezvous. Just watched for the second night in a row and spotted a nod to, I think, Caravaggio's Deposition of Christ from the Cross.

Every scene could be paused and parsed for half an hour. Glorious. Watchable and rewatchable.

Just found that the film of LEL 2014 ('London Edinburgh London') and Lee Craigie's 'Divide' are both currently available free on Amazon Prime.

I've wanted to see the LEL film for years (I watch the trailer on YouTube every now and again as a kind of motivator) and was unreasonably pleased to see it on Prime.

  14. I have one episode left of Deutschland 86 to watch. I'd highly recommend. Every bit as enjoyable as Deutschland 83

Yesterday on Netflix I watched a doc The Miami Showband Massacre. Very interesting, well worth a watch.
