I'm talking maybe 6 months or so. Is it possible? Does anyone do it?

Cheaper to buy and resell?

Not very useful in Edinburgh I know but in the Netherlands you can get a bicycle subscription: https://swapfiets.nl/en/
15 euros a month in AmsterdamPosted 5 years ago # -
Vanmoof in London do a subscription so you could do that and add in a ticket up and down to that London.
Alternately depending on what you want you might be better off buying a done up 2nd hand bike from the Bike station for £100 quid or so.

Yes, £250 spent at the Bike Station and the residue recovered from a Gumtree sale seems like the lowest cost highest value for money option.

What size are you? I have a spare I could lend out in a 60 frame.

Thanks for all the responses. It's not for me and at the moment it's not necessary. I'm just scoping things out for the future. A second hand bike of the right type seems just as valid an idea.
