When they say "disabled people", what they really mean is ME ME ME
I think it's fine that people should be able to drive into the city, just not through it
And all parking should be off-street and paid for.
Odd how there never seems to be so much concern for the disabled people (elderly, children...) who can't get out and about because of the thundering traffic and barriers created by parked cars.
My brother is disabled and does not drive. He likes smooth pavements, trams, kneeling buses and quiet cities.
I think he'd be really quite annoyed to be used as the spearhead for urban motoring.
If it fully pedestrianised then would not be able cycle in Penicuik not allowed to cycle in pedestrianised street.
The experts will say ban cars, the people of Edinburgh will decline. The councillors will vote with the people.
Some Disabled people would be able to use taxis where that is appropriate. Same as any other group where car use is essential. .electric cabs, pedal cans etc.
Will be carmageddon in 2050. Also no green belt. Just houses and cars.
