Anyone else get Cycling around Scotland?

I also got a very cool Timbuk2 messenger style pannier! feels extremely sturdy but is much lighter than our old panniers.

No, but I got 2 copies of the Lonely Planet Cyclign Britain guidebook!

No other cycling-related presents, my family are well trained enough toask "which one I would like" if they were thinking of buying me something cycly.

Got my saddle bag, purely because I ordered it and collected the relevant funds.

I was given a very nice copy of Moby-Dick by Hermann Melville. A most excellent book. My bike stuff may come in EBC sale but there is an interesting philosophical choice being offered to me and five others I will have more info in the pub.

In Moby-Dick the harpooning of the whale from the small boat and the subsequent pulling along of the boat by the whale was known as a Nantucket Sleigh Ride. THe soft rock band Mountain released a song called Nantucket Sleigh Ride. I understand [tho can't be bothered to check exact detail] Mountain brought out a triple album and one of the discs (vinyl obviously, but both sides of the LP) was one song. Continuing in the not proven vein another soft rock band The Flaming Lips allegedly produced an album that had to be played simultaneously on
three turntables for the complete effect [something more than quadrophonic]

Part of he Nantucket Sleigh ride tune was used for Weekend World on the telly long ago.

I knew it was a current affairs show but I had to look up the title.

Allegedly = did. Well, it was on CD and has four discs and is called Zaireeka. It's up to the listener how many of the discs they play at once and if they choose to play them in and out of phase. A friend who's into his Flaming Lips has a copy.
