there was that Channel 4 documentary in 1982 that they somehow got wrong on the night and had to restart the programme halfway through, i remember that one fondly
.the live gigs at Roma and Dortmund, both in 1980 are well worth revisiting, with Adrian Belew in full effect

obviously Byrne and Weymouth just could not reconcile.. but over time i've come to respect Byrne's decision not to reform the band

I remember Byrne playing at the Barrowlands in Nov '89, just a week or so after the Happy Mondays i think it was.. i still had a cheeky half eccy left over, to enhance the dance
Anyway he had an unusual seating arrangement up the back of the ballroom.. and it all became clear, later during the gig he said to the band, "make this good guys, my family is all sitting up the back there.."

Thanks for these bax-San. The short doc suggests Tina only learnt the bass to get into the band. If so she appears to have learnt it very well. They then formed and one second later were gigging at CBGB's and signed by Seymour Stein two seconds later.
