A CYCLIST has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a van in North Berwick.

Police are at the scene after the crash at the junction of Dirleton Road and Hamilton Road.

According to the EEN, the collision involved an "electric cyclist":

No indication is offered of the power source of the van driver.

Here's hoping that the cyclist makes a full recovery.

(Given that the galvanic individual was riding along the main road, it does look like SMIDSY is a strong contender for the cause.)

"The 47-year-old male van driver was injured."

Typo? Presumably that should be "uninjured"?

@amir: Ah, OK, that does put a slightly different slant on things.
