I don't know how many cargo bike owners are there on here? But there has been some talk about having some sort of Cargo bike event over the Easter weekend.

At it's simplest this would be meeting up and going for a wee ride around the Meadow, or possible having a picnic either before or after the ride.

The general idea is to get as many cargo bikes/trikes as possible in one pace to show just how many there are in Edinburgh and how broad the verity of cargo cycles there are.

Anyone else think this is a good idea?

Whilst I'm not around that weekend, if someone here wanted to attend and have a suitable steed, drop me a PM...

I don’t have a cargo bike but would come and cycle around on a laden utility/ city bike?

I would gladly bring an Elephant Bike with enormous panniers and a trailer to such an event, but not on Easter weekend.

There are plans for a non-standard bike popup event being hatched during the POP weekend. Mostly to do with chicanes. @Frenchy knows more

We have had a couple of requests for Pop related loans or contacts.
One from Dalkeith and other from Musselburgh.
Considering lending out our e-cargo Helios multi-mode tandem. Also have tandem too (but not extra cargo rack).

As @sallyhinch said, there will be a mini-PoP event relevant to to this.

Along with the Cycling Without Age folk, we're going to have some fun trying to get non-standard bikes (trishaws, trailers, tandems etc.) through some of the barriers on NCN 1 and NCN 76 in Musselburgh.

27th April, meeting at Musselburgh train station at 1pm.

(Standard bikes welcome too, of course).

Play Together on Pedals is running a free monthly Bike Curious workshop at Bangholm Outdoor Centre on the second Sunday of each month, 10am - 12noon.

We have our own e-cargo bike and e-cargo-trike for folks to try and would love to welcome more folks with different variations on the theme.
I'm happy to bring our kit along to other events too but already have commitments Easter weekend.

Bumping to see if anyone's interested in this: http://citycyclingedinburgh.info/bbpress/topic.php?id=19477&replies=29#post-305101

If there's any interest, I'll probably make a separate thread to keep it tidy.
