Cycling the A835

    What should I expect cycling from Ullapool to Garve on this road?

    Other routes add on about 25 miles and would take too long.

    Cycled this road mid week back in July 2017 and it was fine. Only issue we had was close to Ullapool just after the ferry arrived from Stornaway. For about 20 mins the road was very busy with vehicles from the ferry and it was a bit scary. We just stopped until the traffic had dispersed and after that it was fine all the way to Garve.

    I cycled from Ullapool last summer. I came off the Stornoway ferry so waited until all the traffic had set off before starting my ride. It was perfect after this, not too busy and totally beautiful in places.

    I'll be on the ferry so I might wait as suggested. I'm on the early one from Stornoway so hopefully it won't be too busy.
