2017 women's Pinnacle Lithium hybrid allegedly in small (but friend is checking as not sure). £450 new in 2017, they want £100. No link as through a Breeze group.

It's for a friend who hasn't cycled much in past years, partly due to kids (but also because Ed Bike Coop sold her a crap "hybrid" that was more of a mountain bike, with super heavy - & entirely uneccesary for the type of cycling she told them she'd be doing - suspension forks - which has made her wary of bike shop advice).

Purpose: light commuting, riding on paths & trails with & without smallish offspring, potentially running errands.

    Assuming it's actually a small frame, I think it'll do the job. (She's 5'3".)

    Opinions?

My sister in law has one and it's great. Pinnacle Lithium comes in many flavours though - check it's the £450 spec?

Also there was a recall for dodgy dropouts, but maybe 2016?

Yeah, I was wondering how she could check that without sounding accusatory - I'd hope in a Breeze ride group you'd worry about facing the buyer in future if you'd told fibs about the build!

You know, at £100 my advice would be that she try it and if it feels fun to ride then go for it. If she really gets into cycling she'll want to upgrade it in a couple of years anyway and by then she'll know a bit more about what she wants. I think you can get very hung up on components and build quality and all that but if you're not racing or doing 100 mile rides, if the bike is comfy and puts a smile on your face then that's the main thing.
