I got a bit annoyed looking for somewhere to park my bike a few nights ago and couldn't find anything helpful - so I tried to make something!

https://cycleparking.net should show most cycle parking in and around Edinburgh.

You can click/drag the map, search a location or locate yourself if your device supports it. You can then tap on each location to see if it's covered and what the capacity is.

Would love to get some feedback on what can be improved/added/changed!

where'd you get your data from? aren't there now racks at the end of Craiglockhart terrace?

was disappointed, but not surprised, to see no bike parking at the Royal Mail South Gyle Depot either. No obvious customer racks, and one bike forlornly locked up to a railing suggested no employee racks either?

I thought cycle parking showed on open street map, but I can't find it. So, is the only other source the council map?

You need to be zoomed right in: https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=19/55.93606/-3.18037

Or on the cycle layer (blue squares): https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=16/55.9362/-3.1847&layers=C

I did both of those things, but only looked at my neighbourhood, which is obviously poorly served.

a question remains - did I imagine that they finally put bike parking at the end of Craiglockhart terrace? or is it missing from all maps.

The data is from openstreetmap - it's pretty good but not perfect so could be missing some parking or showing some that aren't publicly accessible.

If you get arrested while trying to find them, that's on you ;)
