    So it's the first World Heavy Metal Knitting Championship coming up in Finland. A competition a bit like air guitar but for knitters. Some of you will know that Madame IWRATS is an extreme knitter. Entry is by one minute video with contestants knitting to Maniac Abductor's 'Fight or die'.

    Not quite off topic because bikes are a good way to transport props across Gullane Point and Madame is knitting and wearing an outfit made from burst inner tubes. Quite an amusing way to spend the Monday holiday. Some very confused birdwatchers.

    Volume to 11, obviously.

    This is highly impressive. I hope that while filming you really felt that you were having a singular experience, that this specific thing was happening only in this particular reality. In all the millions of other versions of the multi-verse, this was the only one in which this was happening.

    A wonderful thing.

    That's it exactly. The formation of powerful and permanent (ha, ephemeral) memories.

    @HankChief

    I assume a book will be written about this adventure?

    I've been at her for years to write that. Great to have your support.

    I wouldn't go as far as to tattoo literary demands on her.

    But seriously, that looked like a lot of fun, and I'm sure there's a good yarn or two to follow.

    So, eh, madame will be appearing on the The Nine tonight on the telebhisean to talk about her new world fame.

    Filmed on Wednesday, very amusing to see how it's done.

    I watched a brief clip of the event and was amazed to that Schoosh's daughter was also taking part.

    Who knew that Edinburgh was such a hotbed of heavy metal knitting.

    Yes, I was asked if Scoosh's daughter was my partner! Odd that the whole of the UK of GB&NI's contingent of competitive heavy metal knitters attend PoP....
