Spotted this on Family Cycling page on FB...

"Anyone in Edinburgh and looking to sell a good quality trailer?

We hired a Thule single Chariot at the weekend. It was great but the £850 price tag a bit less so! We were unsure about whether to get a single or double seater. Bike shop have said Thule are stopping making a 2 seater version so it is not available to buy new.

Pretty clueless so advice welcome. We live somewhere hilly with rough / uneven road surfaces so was thinking we'd would need a good quality trailer for comfort. Want to use it for nursery drop off and general trips out and about. There seem to be very few options to see (and try) trailers in real life so only been able to see the Thule - and its been the only one recommended. Is it worth all that money? Is there a resale market for them?"

2-wheel trailers can be a liability over rough surfaces, and can flip as they require 3 degrees of freedom in the towing hitch.

1-wheel child carrying trailers are rare, and require a proper (Islabike/Rann/BOB) towing hitch. Depending on number of infants options can include a papoose, and handlebar/head-tube -mounted 'seat' (the Bobike Mini is for children up to 15Kg)

Larger kids go on the rear rack or 'croggie-seat' with the latter providing valuable learning opportunities, and holding the handlebars with parent and 'steering' the bike... as well as the protection of having an adult body that can surround them with padding, and protect them if the rider has a fall or crash.

We have a good quality Croozer (has a bit of suspension) for one child. It is great (but expensive) and weighs a ton - it really put me off cycling with it until I eventually bought an ebike. With weight of child, trailer and Stuff, it's easily 40kg of towed weight.

We had a Bike Co-op one. The kids loved it. We had to carry it from the garden shed, through the house in pieces and assemble it each time we used it. This was quite a disincentive. And the places we could go were limited by all kinds of obstacles, though I didn't take it onto roads unless absolutely unavoidable. It was cheap, and we sold it on for around £40.

We also had a two seater revolution roller. It was great until the kids out grew it. It took some getting used to as the hitch had a spring in it which you could feel stretching when pedalling hard.

If you buy one second hand there is a good chance it will hold its value.
