Not wanting to make ‘politics’ out of a difficult situation, but isn’t this what his predecessor said about Grenfell?
“
He assured them “you will all be properly housed” if the dam burst, and told police officers: “Let’s hope it doesn’t happen.”
“
- and that involved fewer people than this could.
Sadly, sounds just the sort of thing Trump would say.

Went to see Dead Ringers which is a BBC Radio 4 show. This at EICC. They had one sketch with two BJs. (Good one and lecherous one)
Team of four - many will know here as R4 listeners.Lampooned him truly. NS got a mention but like Juncker depicted with dodgy accent. Lots of material though so can't win them all.
"...we can and we must leave the EU on 31st October. I had a phrase for this and realised it spelt out DUD. But not to worry, I had just missed out the all important E which of course spells DUDE!
So I say to all the Dudes here -lets get to work so we can Deliver Utter Disaster - Expensively."(Not from show but Mrs LB thought it was funny and asked me to post)

Boris Johnson has said he hopes the EU will “show common sense” and agree a new Brexit deal, as No 10 refused to rule out scheduling an election in the first days after leaving the EU on 31 October if Johnson loses a confidence motion.

Thought Rees Mogg had hatred of overused words like 'hope' and 'common sense' - or maybe I just 'assumed' he had.

Boris Johnson is expected to make a diplomatic dash to meet Emmanuel Macron in Paris and Angela Merkel in Berlin early next week as he seeks to break the Brexit impasse.
The prime minister, who has yet to leave the UK to meet any of the EU’s leaders since entering Downing Street, will also speak to the Irish prime minister, Leo Varadkar, and Donald Tusk, the European council president, by phone, the Guardian understands.

Boris Johnson has blamed those MPs trying to stop a no-deal Brexit for the EU’s refusal to compromise on the backstop. But he has also claimed that, despite the EU’s response to his proposal for an alternative to the backstop being “a bit negative”, he thinks a deal will be achieved in the end.

Our "favourite" local
Tory MSPmotoring enthusiast has thrown his hat in the ring. If he gets in, we can doubtless look forward to his grumbling about the Bypass on BBC Scotland prime time news!https://twitter.com/edinburghpaper/status/1167430586551676929

Khan is the second adviser working for Javid to be sacked by No 10. She is also the fourth young woman in a month to be axed from the prime minister’s network of advisers and senior staffers.

OT - Briggs could start a Ruth Davidson Memorial Party? Media here managed to find lots of people who went on about her achievements and how down to earth she was.
I hear though she is not a great constituency MP. Never mentioned once in media. Anyone here ever written to her?Posted 5 years ago # -
Correction. I hear though she is not a great constituency MSP. (Not MP)

“empty-chair policy would damage the UK’s interest.
“One could make the same argument about Sinn Féin, both the interests of the North of the island and the Republic.

And as we come to that Brexit deadline I am encouraged by the progress we are making.
In the last few weeks the chances of a deal have been rising, I believe, for three reasons. They can see that we want a deal.
They can see that we have a clear vision for our future relationship with the EU - something that has perhaps not always been the case.

"...the Prime Minister with the total shortest period in office was George Canning, whose sole term lasted 119 days from 12 April 1827 until his death on 8 August 1827"
...
"Boris Johnson became the fastest PM to lose a by-election, the 2019 Brecon and Radnorshire by-election, in just 10 days."
Both from the wikipedia article on prime ministers.
