Post-festival PY approacheth.
Friday currently looking like it might be damp, but if the forecast changes do we fancy The Counter?
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Count on it.

Excuse the naivety but what's PY? A Google search just brought me back to CCE... (and I assume you're not coding Python)
Expected temperature?
Real PY??
Excuse the naivety but what's PY?
PY stands for Peter's Yard, which is the coffee place on Middle Meadow Walk (now actually called) Soderberg.
Monthly-ish CCE meetings happen there, or at some designated alternative. I think it's the last Friday of the month, normally, although I don't often manage to get along myself, so could be making that bit up.
A monthly movable feast -

"Normally from 7.30 to 8.30 (Morning) for most folk."
Some people hang on past nine.
@CycleAlex it's monthly CCE morning coffee - used to be at Peter's Yard (PY) by Middle Meadow Walk, but PY then changed its name to Soderberg and now we sometimes go to other venues mostly the canal barge coffee place by the Leamington Lift Bridge. So PY is not PY any more, though usually Not PY means not Soderberg but another venue.
Last Friday of the month, some people get there early, some of us a bit later, I tend to abuse flex time and hang about for ages...
So are we at PY or Soderberg?
This could be my first in a while, and maybe last also.
The Counter (by Leamington Lift Bridge) if the weather is favourable, else Soderberg?
Excuse the naivety but what's PY?
So PY is not PY any more, though usually Not PY means not Soderberg but another venue.
More than you wanted to know about PY, Not PY and Not Not PY:

I do like the hyperlocal colloquialisms that spring from a forum's membership over time, making perfect sense to those in the know and absoutely no sense at all to onlookers.
I'm thinking of going camping from Friday but otherwise may well mosey into town.
"I'm thinking of going camping from Friday but otherwise may well mosey into town."
AKA being capable with a possibly required prefix of overnight. Or does that only apply if one goes bikepacking?
Looks grey and potentially damp tomorrow - so the traditional venue is called for. See youse half eightish!
Any earlier people going to be like earlier than that? Like 0745ish?
I slept in.
bother. i was actually here and didn't realise it was a PY day.
next week anyone?
"This could be my first in a while, and maybe last also."
@davec - losing patience with us all or moving jobs?!
@srd next month it will be the last Friday of the month, and then after that in October it will be the last Friday of the month which will actually be the tenth year of this forum but not the tenth year we have been meeting at PY on the last Friday of the month
I'm in Blackpool next week @SRD, sorry!
@Frenchy, chdot, unhurt, Arellcat Thank you!
I'll give you all fair warning that I might turn up in September.
Ok, will be sept this Friday one month short of the decade. 8-8.30 am for me at the Soderberg on MMW
There’s only one PY.
someone remind me and i will try to come.
@SRD it is a sort of meet up thing, last Friday of every month. Oh wait you mean remind you like Thurs?
Hopefully this will get you back in the groove because the next one is our 10th anniversary, so would be nice if you were able to make that.
I will try to come this week and will definitely be there next month - 25th?
Ah yes 10th anniversary. I have a night out on Thursday and this notwithstanding I shall endeavour to attend.
@gembo and I will sing as much of my translation of Yves Duteil's Les Savants, les poètes et les fous as we can before we are asked to leave and banned for the next ten years.
@IWRATS - sounds good. You can only get banned for a month as the staff all change over from one PY to the next. There have been good natured staff since the bell ringing incident. Also in the summer there was a double espresso which was twice the size of a single (I once objected about my doppio being tiny and was told it had twice the coffee but same amount of liquid I was wired, like totally wired all day)
I consider my banning from Proctors in the early nineties to still be in force even though it's Dagda now.
Joni Mitchell is banned from The Doric Bar and bears a grudge. Sadly, the staff in the Doric have no idea who Joni Mitchell is
@SRD - reminder - it is tomorrow
