    If anybody has, or knows someone who has, just lost a yellow Ortlieb on Gilmerton Road containing a waterproof, their lunch and a letter to America then they can reclaim it from Phoilis na h-Alba.

    sounds like the first line of a Alasdair Gray novel or perhaps a belle and sebastian lyric.

    Some nice tabouleh I think. I asked the cop to put it in the fridge and he declared his intention to eat it instead.

    @Iain McR

    Ideally every posting to CCE should be both true and in some regard satisfying.

    @bill

    For noticing that you get citizenship of the République ecossaise. But in fact the letter was to Ohio. And Peat and Diesel are the new Craig and Charlie.

    'Peat and Diesel' are the tasting notes for a bottle of Ardbeg I have.

    Diesel is a striking component of the nose of Condrieu wines along with apricots and parma violets.

    I had thought the band name was a reference to the ancient and modern energy sources in Na h-Eileanan an Iar but Ardbeg makes very solid sense.

    Was there sunshine on Gilmerton when you found it?

    No, but in regards to the pannier I saw it, I claimed it, I touched it and I saved it which is close.

    Glad to hear it. I hope the owner comes forward and can confirm they still had their cap in hand. It sounds like it wasn't in the bag.

    ... And I hope the owner is on their way from misery to happiness today (despite lost lunch).

    Woe Liquid Rooms P&D date is sold out already!

    Do I want to trek to Dundee or Stirling for a night out in February? Anyone want to have a wee CCE concert trip?

    Likability is over-rated. I plan to attend with an actual plateful of sgadan and maragh dubh.

    If you are struck down by mysterious but shortlived pains the day of, can I have your ticket?

    In totally unrelated news, can I trouble you for a wee snippet of your hair?

    2) I need all the hair I have.
