    No new money or initiatives aimed at walking or cycling. A major announcement of £500m, over an unspecified time period, for new "bus priority infrastructure". Also a commitment to begin "...plans to reallocate road space on
    parts of the motorway network around Glasgow to high‑occupancy vehicles such as buses".

    However, nothing aimed at reducing travel demand - particularly single occupancy car journeys (which cause the congestion which delays buses), A9/A96 dualling proceed etc.

    Quite a few references to the next National Transport Strategy and it "redefining" investment priorities towards sustainable travel. However, similar claims have been made for many previous transport documents and I've yet to see any real change.

    Is it the time of year where we all point out that travel is the sticking plaster for poor urban planning, housing, employment and retirement policies?

    And pay-per-use road usage charges would have helped to drive those policies in the right direction.

    <pun intended>
