Great idea.
Me and my wife do the same on our Quetzal recumbent tandem. Often it's the only time we get all week to talk without interruption.
I would point out that it only works when you're not puggling up steep hills. If either can still talk during these periods, there needs to be a discussion about effort levels of participant tandemistas. Can be a delicate subject :)
