THis morning heading UP FROM THE CANAL TOWPATH turning left onto Gilmore Place heading east I was a little surprised to find a young person turning right taking a line through the gutter to my left - I mean it is a tight corner and EVERYTHING BUT SURELY THAT IS MY GUTTER NOT HIS??

aNYWAY this alerted me to the fact that it was going to be a bizarre day.

At the Kings Theatre junction I was first in the ASB. I positioned myself quite close to a taxi to my left as the buses smash through on your right. After the traffic snarled and it looked like no bus was going to turn right I moved over a tiny bit to get away from the taxi. THis was lucky as a different young person hurtled into the non-existent space between me and the taxi and slightly over the front of the ASB. The filter left came on - the taxi driver pulled out and shouted quite roughly at the young person that I was first in the queue.

I was being Zen like in my ancientness and wisdom. Told the young person - the taxi driver is disagreeing with your road position. The young person replied he had crap brakes. This young person should perhaps consider taking it easy then or getting better brakes. Very smart though cycoling in shirt and tie etc.
