Brompton Size guide.
I've bought a S/H Brompton. Its fine but slightly small for my 183cm (6ft) height. I assume the seat height is standard. Has anyone on here who owns a Brompton and is ~6ft?
There are 3 seat posts available, std (53cm), tall(59cm) & Telescopic (55cm extending to 71cm). ANy suggestions so I don't have to go visit a shop who has a few Brompton's I stock?
Also - do the steerers come in longer sizes? Or do I need new bars. The current bars are not the flat type.

I'm a little shorter than you and manage on the standard post, so the tall one will almost certainly suffice. I have a spare tall post if you wish to try it.
The steerers are standard, so you'd need to look at alternative bars - I think the P-type (potentially tallest) has been discontinued, so the H-type would be more upright option compared to the standard M. New cabling might be required.

Sorry, not for sale, as I want the option in future (it came "free" with the bike).
However, if you wished to try it to rule it in or out, then you're welcome to give it a shot.
It has a weight advantage over the telescopic post, but I think the telescopic one maintains a neat fold (the tall post sticks up more than "usual").

I'm 6' and manage with the standard seatpost, set to it's highest setting.... possibly your legs are longer?
I used to get sore knees, then I twigged that the seatpost was sliding down - that was corrected at a service and have had no discomfort since.
Dave, you may be on top of this already (pun intended), but if memory serves you can flip the clip at the top of the seat post to gain an extra inch or so.
Dave, Tulyar and I both ride Bromptons with the telescopic seatpost. He has about 3 inches on me in terms of height, but my legs are proportionately slightly longer. I've tried the tall seatpost and it's not tall enough for me.
The H-stem is about 30mm higher than the M-stem if the bars are the same.
The Brompton Pentaclip is so named because it can be used in 5 ways to get a finer tuned saddle position.
I made the prototype extending seatposts because I kept bending the regular 'long' post, and that was too short. The originals were the proverbial fletton construction sanitation point, with a 38mm o/d staineless steel tube with an end flared by placing a large 'cannonball' ball bearing on the end & providing an upset force with a 14lb mell, in assisted descent.
The upper section can be replaced by any 27.1mm seatpost?
The H Bars steerer adds about 2" to the bar height, but the design absorbs this in the fold at the steerer hinge.
Maybe some more later om higher rise bars (steel), or ergon grips/bar-end extensions to provide alernative hand positions
I have a second hand Brompton with a telescopic seat post and I don't need the telescoping function (previous owner is 6'5), so would consider swapping with a standard one. Let me know if you want to try it for a bit.
I have to say my experience with bromptons was not good. Borrowed one which ended up getting stolen in Amsterdam ....... I then had to replace it to the princely sum of £800 ....... they dont half hold their value ........ stupid expensive folding B@57@*ds.....
