@gembo we only live about 5 crow miles from you and today was our 4th frost of the autumn.

I awoke to the sound of scraping windscreens. Level four gloves today.

Not about crows, more about altitude and to some degree (sic) proximity to large amounts of water.

3 here. Coldest morning so far.

Despite the forecast, this comes as a bit of a surprise because it was quite mild in City Centre yesterday evening (although I wasn't out all that late). I'm going to assume that the towpath will be quite ok for all but the most incautious (and possibly even entirely clear by the time I make it there)...

No frost on the towpath at 7am. Some on leaves beside it.

There has been frost in Ratho, Calders and Livingston a few times already but they are higher up and more inland than Edinburgh. Today there was even some ice on roads around Mid Calder.

I saw some salt in Edinburgh and around Ratho. No salt in the West Lothians eve though they could have done with some!

Suppose I should really consider fitting the studded tyres. 0c in the shed, hope it warms up this evening.

I was waiting for this so that 8 could just go straight back to studded tyres and not bother with re-fitting the non-studded rear tyre on the geared bike to make it less lumpy.
Very cold in Porty on Saturday evening but errands prevented me from seeing if it was freezing anywhere.

Warriston farm Road had quite a bit of ice near the junction to long dalmahoy road but noticed no ice after that

There was a little frost on the towpath around Wester Hailes but it presented no significant problems.

@jdanielp It did occur to me that I should have specified that i'd only gone as far as the aqueduct.

“i'd only gone as far as the aqueduct.”

    Danger lurks beyond.

Ice on the bird bath. My garden is north facing and only gets a drop of sun at this time of the year.

I forgot to say that the Leamington Lift Bridge was quite frosty yesterday morning and was then resembling a sandpit when I cycled home in the evening. The sand was partially washed away this morning. I just hope that not too much of it got into my new super-smooth drivetrain and brake pads.

@Gembo I have been called some unusual names in the past but 'Frost Pocket' takes things to a whole new dimension.

Yesterday was the third morning there has been frost on our car. The first occurrence was way back on the 2nd of October (the day after I last cut our grass). My wife tells me she has already scraped the car more this winter than last winter.

We are lower and closer to the sea than gembo but also 6.5(ish) miles further north so perhaps that makes a difference.

These occurrences of frost lower down towards the sea are a little counter intuitive to me. I would have thought up here would be more frosty. Still just on the roofslates. The car is in the shelter of the house so has not yet needed scraped.......?

Roslin quite slippy this morning. No gritting at all. I rode on tenterhooks all the way to the roundabout at Gowkley Moss. It warmed up a lot once at the bypass.

There was no obvious frost (or ice) on the towpath this morning, but I felt my back wheel sliding underneath me while travelling through Wester Hailes so eased off for the rest of the commute and managed to stay upright.

The entrance to Heriot watt car park by research avenue north was icy which was odd as no ice there even when more ice on monday

Jacket was steaming this morning, very breathable apparently.

Cc.cc it's a paramo ciclo. I've put my initial impression somewhere but you'll probably need to use Google to find it!

@jdp that was exactly my experience on the towpath this morning too. It didn't seem icy and it wasn't that cold, but something was definitely skiddy.
