Be aware: the police were manning a closure on the NEPN this morning around 6.10am heading towards the Red Bridge from Leith, near Ainslie Park.
Everyone was being diverted through the new housing estate on the left and onto Ferry Road.

Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.

Ah - as I wasn't on the bike yesterday, this is likely still the closure from yesterday's serious sexual assault incident.
Police Scotland update on Facebook stating that "no criminality occured" following thei investigation
Just read that on the BBC this morning. Presumably the person involved will be charged with wasting police time at the very least.
I very much hope not. There are many reasons why the police might decide no criminality was involved; punitive charges against people who have reported sexual violence increase the already very high levels of reluctance to report. (Most sexual assaults / rapes are never reported.)
I agree entirely.
I misunderstood the police statement 'no criminality involved' as meaning someone made up the claim. My apologies.
Could have been what the Mountain Rescue folks sometimes term a "well-intentioned false alarm".
