Hi everyone. Recently blown off the cobwebs from and fixed up an old mountain bike. Looking for somewhere to take it out on a run and was wondering if anyone was willing to share their knowledge on good trails in and around Fife?

Child friendly trails preferred but I am willing to throw them (slowly) down more challenging ones...

Willing to travel for the better places but those closest to Dunfermline would be ideal

It may be worth your while joining Dunfermline Cycling Club (£17 for the year) - there is a regular Tuesday evening mountain biking outing, starting from the centre of Dunfermline. A good way to get the benefit of others' local knowledge.

A good place for a short local outing would be the Fordell trails north of Dalgety Bay (they are shown on the first link in chdot's post above).

Blairadam, Pitmedden Forest (near Auchtermuchty) and particularly Tentsmuir are all fun.

The latter is furthest away but has a great for kids with an adventure playground and a BBQ area for post ride relaxation.
