    After spotting Snowy in new jacket and just making fingertip contact on towpath, I then spotted Kaputnik in new bunnet and Jacket. These spots were harder than usual because of new garb.

    Can people please list thweir new cycling relaterd presents

    Ta

    I succumbed finally to the ShakeDry. Despite claims of being twice as breathable as previous Goretex - looks boil in the bag to me. Keep it for weekends.

    So I am unchanged in the clobber I am commuting in.

    Mr fimm got a book called "En cycle opedia" or something like that. I think that was it for the fimm household.
    My nephew got a new bike.

    @fimm

    Very much so! I shall dress up in full regalia for the next beer nite.

    (I am not great at keeping white shirts white.)

    Nothing new, but I have switched to carrying my pannier on the left which would have perhaps been better to leave for a less windy week given that it has made a surprising difference to the ride.

    I got a Hammerhead Karoo from Mrs Biketrain. Thanks to Iain McR for the voucher code. Very pleased with it. Just heard that I have won a Chili Red Shell for it, after filling in a survey.

    I got this t-shirt, sadly it feels like they made it out of canvas or an old tarpaulin (I am very sensitive). So may not get too much use.

  9. I got a pair of Fizik R4B Carbon Boa road shoes for £39.95 in a pre-Xmas sale on Merlin's website. They're back up at £109 again now, so quite pleased with the bargain price!

    My old shoes are almost dead, but I'm hoping they last until Spring and then I'll switch to the new shoes.

    @IanMcR

    Very much enjoying your cast-off Ronde top mate. Happy to boil that T-shirt down to my size if it offends your epidermis.

    A louder bell for my tourer, in the hope that it will be effective in the Netherlands.

    @IainMcR Simmet beneath?
    I got no presents relating to bicycles. Shall get myself some Kool Stop pink brake blocks when they're back in stock.

    @wingpig, although your logic is sound, he will now buy a semmit or in modern termiono9logy Base layer, sadly he will be somewhat disappointed with this base layer too.

    I broke the easy to open clip on my Ortleib panniers so I got a new Tweed Gilet. It's super warm and cosy for wearing at work like a sleeveless housecoat) and fits nicely in the still broken pannier.

    I googled 'simmet' and I am not much wiser.

    I do like an Aldi baselayer though.

    @ARobComp - I've found SJS a good source for Ortlieb spares.

    I had an actual simmet when I was a student which I wore demi-ironically. It wound up died pink for reasons, semi-ironically.

    I got 3 pairs of socks with bicycles on them and Where there's a will by Emily Chappell. The latter was beautifully written and I had finished it by mid afternoon on Boxing Day. Highly recommended if you have an interest in long distance cycling.

    My friend* gave me a copy of "Laid Back Around The World in 180 Days". I think I'd heard of it, once, maybe, and certainly had never read it.

    * who isn't a cyclist, but is quite well acquainted with my sundry deviant bikes.

    Bike-shaped bookends, to go with my bike-shaped key hanger and bike themed coasters from last Christmas. Which are all lovely in themselves but I'm trying to keep them all tucked away in one room because once you get a reputation for collecting that sort of thing, you might as well collect owls.

    My maths teacher, who taught me in S2 and later became a family friend, collects owls.

    sallyhinch - you now carry the mark of the cyclist. Acceptance is the only way. Luxuriate in the bike related keech you are now destined to receive forever, or descend into madness...

    If only they would give me merino kit, I'd be happy. Perhaps if Findra could be persuaded to produce something with bicycles printed on it, it would be win win

    @sallyhinch, my strategy here is to alert all present buyers that `I have peak items with bicycles printed on them but aLDI do good quality merino base layers if anyone is interested? But i am not known for my tact. Tho i am known for not having more than one shirt and one pair of socks with wee bicycles imposed upon the fabric.
