Does anyone know of any grants which companies can apply for, to pay for bicycle racks please? I'm asking my employer to ask our landlord (of the office) for better racks as the current room has simple end on - perpendicular parking racking. The current arrangement is not great as the room appears to be used for storage for other stuff and I'm concerned our bikes may be damaged as things like pallets and cages of goods are moved through this area. Vertical racks may be better but convincing our landlord to instal them may be a problem. If I can come up with any inducement our request might be more likely to be approved.

    Thanks,

Grants are available from the Cycling Scotland scheme: Cycle Friendly Employer. Application for this is partly by self-certification. The remainder can be arranged via the qualified assessors at The Bikestation's A Better Way to Work campaign. For more information, call ABWtW on 667 3558 or email colin@thebikestation.org.uk

Edinburgh Council are also currently advertising cut price cycle storage racks aimed mainly at enabling more people to store bikes in common stairs more easily.

Let me know if I can be of any more assistance.
    Cheers
