This just popped up on a private local fb forum
    https://www.letsride.co.uk/rides/pentland-hills-loop-1

It looks great - easy ride round the pentlands, no one left behind etc, by a women, for women. But it's this tuesday! So can I pass this on? It's for these Breeze bike rides. The WCFS?

The woman running this seems very nice!

Tricky section just after the waterfall unless new path made? And a slog up maiden’s cleuch tho the organiser is at pains to emphasise that getting off and pushing will be fine.

    Weather does not look good.

    Hope it goes well.

@gembo: Tricky section just after the waterfall unless new path made?

Seemed OK for an MTB when I went that way (both directions) in June last year. Has it deteriorated since then?

@ejstubbs, trickier when the water is up - one route a bit submerged the other side. Little squishy

Tricky section just after the waterfall... what waterfall? In Green Cleugh? I've mountainbiked through there (and I am rubbish on a mountain bike) and the only bit I walked was the stream crossing.

I agree that Maiden's Cleugh is a bit of a climb.

They've put in bridges and stepping stones in all the rivery bits in Green Cleugh. You can still ford them if you wish.

Maidens climb up from that side is quite heavily washed out after winter (as it is every year) and has some knobbly rocks. Imagine it'll be a slog for those on a hybrid type bikes, but is ok on a MTB.

Ironically the water has washed away a lot of the horrible clay type hard pack that was put on a few years back that became a quagmire when wet, so actually some parts are improved.

@fimm when heading through green cleugh, en route to flotterstone on the right when the stream begins to interfere with the path there is a waterfall. OK it is not Niagra but it is a waterfall. Nice picnic spot

@gembo: "Nice picnic spot". And an SSSI on account of its alkaline-loving flora, apparently. The falling water is the Logan Burn, which drains the valley between Hare Hill (resting place of the last remnants of Ju88 3E+HM) and the Kips.

Ah, there. I'll have to pay more attention to the waterfalls next time I'm there.

@fimm there might even be an information sign, though I may have dreamt this. Certainly used to be a wee fence hanging across the river maybe to deter sheep? Have been visiting this spot since 1987 because I am very old.
