The Chinese 'cycle skyway' linked in that article is rather impressive too: https://www.businessinsider.com/china-elevated-cycleway-xiamen-2017-7?r=US&IR=T

The video is good. The POV is a scalping cyclist on an unlimited e-bike but after several rivers and a highway it takes off.

Not sure why they quite so long? Could bring it back to path and then another wee bridge? Maybe they were trying for the record?

My feeling is the Chinese cycle skyway is "doing the wrong thing, better"

Cyclists want to be at ground level, where they can interact with shops, eateries & offices. It's the cars that should be elevated or underground, or better still, eliminated.
